Trophy Alaskan Brown Bear, Grizzly Bear, Russian Brown Bear & Polar Bear Hunts
John Andre with an Alaskan Brown Bear and two Grizzlies. The grizzlies were big bears.The Alaskan Brown Bear was about 8 feet, but the outfitter knew how to take a good picture. The grizzlies were both about 9 feet, and were exceptional bears for British Columbia.
Hunting these big and dangerous bears is one of the ultimate thrills for the sportsman. Having been an outfitter in the Northwest Territories for many years, I have had more than my fair share of grizzly encounters, having shot 20 or so at close range with assorted rubber bullets, bear bangers, etc. Fortunately, they all ran the other way. Alaska, the Yukon and British Columbia all have lots of bears. If they ever open the NWT or Wyoming, jump on the chance to hunt there as well. As bear hunting is becoming more and more a target of the anti-hunting crowd, so I suggest you move grizzly bear hunting to the front burner before it is too late.
Hunt #1: Great hunt for true silvertip grizzlies in southeastern British Columbia. Horseback hunt includes great black bear hunting as well. Cabin accomodations.
Hunt #2: Great Brown Bear hunt on the tip of the Alaskan Penninsula, in the exclusive use area of the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge. For big bears, this hunt can't be beat. Excellent outfitter.
Hunt #3: Hunt big bears with this Master Guide. This outfitter hunts big bears in several great units, including Kodiak, Unimak, and the Alaskan Peninsula. Great hunt for big bears, averaging over 9 feet. This is some of the best brown bear hunting in Alaska- both in opportunity and size. All hunts are conducted from fly-in tent camps and backpack style spike camps.
Hunt #4: Excellent hunt for big bears on Kodiak Island. One of our favorite Alaskan outfitters. Tough country, hunters should be in shape for this hunt. Tent camp accommodations. Our best value in a quality Kodiak Brown Bear Hunt. Fall hunters can add a Sitka Blacktail deer.
Hunt #5: Hunt grizzlies in the spring with this fantastic outfitter. 10 day hunts take place in mid May for these color phased Griz. This is spot and stalk hunting out of the main lodge. Hunt price includes the harvest of a black bear. Success rates here are high, so book early.
Hunt #6: Great bowhunt or rifle hunt for big grizzlies in the Cassiars of northern British Columbia. One of the most remote areas in North America, this country holds some incredible bears. One of our best bowhunting outfitters for grizzly.
Hunt #7: Excellent outfitter offering great grizzly bear hunting on the Hoholitna River of Alaska, or excellent coastal Brown Bear hunts out of Sand Point. First class operation, one of our best hunts for big bears. Please book well in advance.
Hunt #8: Hunt brown bears with one of our absolute favorite Alaskan outfitters. This is a first class operation in all respects. This family operated guiding business offers 30+ years of experience. Spring and fall hunts available. 10 days. Price includes the harvest of a brown bear and a black bear. Most hunting is done from permanent camps of either cabins or wall tents. 4x4 or argo hunt transport. Spring hunts on even numbered years, fall hunts on odd numbered years. Hunts fill up fast- book early!
Hunt #9: Hunting north of Smithers, British Columbia in a great bear area. Hunts in the fall are combined with Moose, Mountain Caribou, or Mountain Goat. Spring Hunt also available. One of our favorite BC outfitters.
Hunt #10: Hunting Unit 13 in Alaska in the spring on showshoes. Through the years, our best value in a quality Brown Bear hunt. This hunt consistently produces some of our best bears. You can even add additional days to the hunt for a per day charge.
